Platelet Rich Plasma
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) can be used in conjunction with a hair transplant procedure to enhance the results and promote hair growth.
Here is how PRP is typically integrated into a hair transplant
Preparation: Before your hair transplant surgery, a small amount of your blood is drawn, usually from your arm, just like a regular PRP procedure.
PRP Processing: The collected blood is then processed in a centrifuge to separate the PRP from other components. This PRP contains a concentrated number of platelets, growth factors, and other bioactive proteins that support tissue repair and regeneration.
Hair Transplant Surgery: The hair transplant procedure, which could be FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) or FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation), proceeds as planned. Hair follicles are either individually extracted (FUE) or removed as a strip (FUT) from the donor area and implanted into the recipient area where you want to restore or enhance hair growth.
PRP Application: After the transplant is completed, the PRP is prepared for application. It can be injected directly into the recipient area, where the hair follicles have been transplanted. Alternatively, it can be applied topically or injected into the donor area to help with healing and optimize graft survival.
